Day 1: Depart from Durban at 8:00 AM and head off to Tala Game Reserve for a safari. A game drive in Tala Game Reserve offers a peaceful and scenic wildlife experience just outside of Durban. The reserve is home to a variety of animals, including giraffes, rhinos, zebras, and hippos, as well as a rich diversity of birdlife. As you explore Tala’s rolling grasslands and acacia woodlands in an open vehicle, expert guides will provide fascinating insights into the behavior of the animals and the reserve's conservation efforts. With its serene landscapes and abundant wildlife, Tala offers a perfect escape into nature for a memorable safari experience. Thereafter proceed to Natal Lion Park to see lions and elephants. The Natal Lion Park offers an exciting opportunity to see lions up close in their natural environment. There is a wide variety of different types of birds here. Depart from Durban early in the morning and travel to the base of the Sani Pass, located in the majestic Drakensberg Mountains. The drive up the pass is an adventure in itself, as 4x4 vehicles navigate the rugged mountain road, offering spectacular views of the winding trails, steep cliffs, and valleys below. Once you reach the top of the pass, you’ll enter the Kingdom of Lesotho, a high-altitude country known for its stunning mountain scenery and rich Basotho culture. You’ll also have the chance to enjoy lunch at the highest pub in Africa, located at 2,874 meters (9,429 feet) above sea level, with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Return to Underberg in late afternoon and proceed to Durban to conclude the tour at 6:30 PM.
